Your duties

Together we work on tailor-made solutions for major online merchants and marketplaces and design the payment solutions of tomorrow. As an internal service unit, the Legal department forms a central interface to all specialist departments at Ratepay. As an Datenschutzkoordinator / Data Protection Coordinator (m/f/d), you will play your part in ensuring the further development and effectiveness of Ratepay's data protection management system. You report directly to our Teamlead Legal and liaise closely with Procurement, Compliance and IT.

Your areas of responsibility are
  • You are responsible for the implementation of data protection requirements in the company and the continuous improvement of the data protection management framework
  • You check and maintain the documentation of the procedures with personal data in the processing directory and support the departments in creating and revising the procedure descriptions and data protection impact assessments
  • You are the contact person for our external Data Protection Officer and for internal and external audits
  • You advise managers and employees on all data protection topics and carry out data protection assessments, e.g. for new products
  • You develop and implement internal guidelines and conduct regular training sessions
  • You are in regular contact with the responsible data protection authority

Your profile

  • Successfully completed law studies with a focus on data protection law or a comparable qualification
  • At least three years of experience in data protection management or auditing, ideally in a FinTech environment
  • You have a profound knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) 
  • You are a team player and enjoy communicating within the company and with external stakeholders
  • Your working style is characterised by a high level of initiative and diligence - you always approach tasks in a structured, solution-oriented and independent manner
  • You are characterised by high integrity and reliability
  • Very good negotiation and communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
