We support Ratepay with resolving cases of fraud and credit losses. How? By using AI/ML and tech! Our automated, high-precision and self-improving Risk Decision Engine manages to defeat even the most advanced fraudsters. 

Ratepay‘s risk management platform scans hundreds of thousands of transactions per day in order to enable secure payments for our merchants and their customers while also protecting our profitability.
We’re at the beginning of a significant platform evolution based on state-of-the-art machine learning & data processing and looking for someone to;

• Own data science projects end-to-end, i.e from ideation, via proof of concept, prototyping and code into production
• Enhance our risk management capabilities 
• •Build algorithmically powered in-house solutions for fraud prevention & credit risk assessment.
• Advise on ongoing initiatives
• Review and improve existing algorithmic solutions
• Work with the team to improve the technical standards and processes along the algorithmic lifecycle
• Improve our fraud prevention & credit risk decision systems with advanced engineering, algorithms and experimentation
• Develop machine learning and optimization systems to leverage our Risk Management experts
• Engage in all stages of the data science lifecycle
• Translate complex business problems into mathematical problems (e.g. optimization tasks) and solve them at scale and with thoughtful automation
• Mentor junior team members and share best practices

**This is a FULL STACK Data Scientist role, which means we require wide-ranging experience, not someone traditionally focused solely on research**

The core areas of experience we are looking for are;

Machine Learning
•Sound knowledge of statistical learning theory and its application to solve real-world problems.
•Advance Ratepay's Data Science practice through practice groups and mentoring
•Translate complex business problems into mathematical problems (e.g. optimization tasks) and solve them at scale and with thoughtful automation

Programming
•Efficient programming skills in Python and SQL to ship your code to production, familiarity with design patterns, unit testing, clean code,  code reviews, etc.

Data Engineering
•Data engineering skills to prototype data pipelines
•Efficiently using database technologies for tasks at hand
 
Communication & business acumen
•Able to effectively communicate your findings and proposed solutions in a way that your stakeholders will understand.
•Able to understand business problems in-depth, along with the ability to ask the right questions in order to build the right solution
