Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) - Risk

Ratepay‘s risk management platform scans hundreds of thousands of transactions per day in order to enable secure payments for our merchants and their customers while also protecting our profitability.

For this purpose, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Machine learning Engineers and Product Managers closely collaborate in the Risk-engineering tribe to continuously enhance our risk management capabilities by creating new inhouse solutions for fraud prevention and credit risk assessment based on state-of-the-art machine learning, data processing, and the integration of third-party providers. "

Your tasks at Ratepay, among others

• You are responsible for the development, operation and improvement of our systems    
• You integrate internal and external APIs in a microservice architecture
• You are an active participant in our agile software engineering process, and work closely with interdisciplinary teams
• You guide and support junior team mates

• At least 7 years of professional working experience in Java backend development 
• Experience working within fintech
• Experience within risk engineering
• Hands-on expertise in Software Engineering using Spring/SpringBoot, Git, Maven, Docker, and Jenkins 
• Experience working with Postgres, Mongo or Redis
• Solid experience with cloud technologies (AWS)
• Very good conceptual knowledge about RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture (Apache Kafka), OAuth (Auth0) and Contract Testing via PACT
• Experience with Kafka Streams to transform and store data
• Experienced in building high-quality customer solutions in an agile environment
• Involvement in every step of the software lifecycle and internalisation of the DevOps approach ("you build it, you run it")
• Self-organised work as well as collaboration within the team and with other teams at Ratepay to deliver high value to our stakeholders and merchants
• Very good English language skills
