As a Senior Platform Engineer at Ratepay, you will play a crucial role in our mission to streamline and enhance our payment processing systems.

Ratepay is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with a strong background in AWS and CI/CD practices, including expertise in various CI/CD tools. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing and automating our development and deployment pipelines, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • AWS Expertise: Leverage your strong AWS experience to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security.
  • CI/CD Implementation: Lead the implementation and improvement of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Travis CI, enabling efficient and automated software delivery.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Work with Docker and ECS to containerize applications and manage orchestration.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure and deployment processes.
  • Coaching & Mentoring - You will have an ability to coach and mentor software engineerin teams
  • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices for securing AWS environments and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IAC): Utilize IAC tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration.(Nice to have )
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Implement and maintain monitoring solutions for application and infrastructure performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development and operations teams to bridge the gap between software development and IT operations.
  • Troubleshooting: Actively investigate and resolve issues related to deployment, performance, and infrastructure.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to propose and implement improvements to Ratepay's infrastructure and processes.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Platform/Cloud/Devops Engineer, with a strong focus on AWS and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing AWS services and resources.
  • Experience with java or kotlin
  • Expertise in one or more CI/CD tools (e.g., TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Travis CI).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker,ECS).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IAC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
Previous experience in the fintech or e-commerce industry.
