Here's What You'll Be Doing

Ratepay is a dynamic and innovative fintech company dedicated to revolutionizing payment solutions in the online retail sector. We empower e-commerce businesses with flexible and secure payment options, allowing them to optimize their revenue streams. As a DevOps Engineer at Ratepay, you will play a crucial role in our mission to streamline and enhance our payment processing systems. 
 
Together we work on next-generation solutions for major online retailers and marketplaces, thereby developing the digital payment solutions of tomorrow's online world.  
  
As a Software Engineer (m/f/d) at Ratepay, you will make a significant contribution to our shared mission of building and developing secure and simple payment solutions for the online retail market, which still continues to grow.   
  
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Drive the development, operation, and continuous improvement of our systems.
  • Integrate internal and external APIs within a microservice architecture.
  • Provide tools and metrics to effectively monitor both technical and business KPIs.

Your profile

  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Java backend development; familiarity with Kotlin is a plus.
  • Hands-on expertise in software engineering with Spring/Spring Boot, Git, Maven, Docker, and Jenkins.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs & microservices.
  • Proven track record of building high-quality customer solutions in an agile environment.
  • Full involvement in the software development lifecycle, embracing a DevOps mindset ("you build it, you run it").
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration within your team and across departments to deliver high-value solutions for stakeholders and merchants.
  • Strong command of the English language. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency in AWS cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture (Apache Kafka).
  • Experience with Kotlin.

It usually consists of a role-specific case study or technical assessment as well as assessing values alignment with some senior members of the team you would be joining.
