Here's What You'll Be Doing

Ratepay is a dynamic and innovative fintech company dedicated to revolutionizing payment solutions in the online retail sector. We empower e-commerce businesses with flexible and secure payment options, allowing them to optimize their revenue streams. 
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in AWS and CI/CD practices, including expertise in various CI/CD tools. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of 8-10 platform engineers driving an exciting company wide migration from on-premise infrastructure to AWS cloud and help to develop and maintain the next generation of Cloud Infrastructure.

  • Lead and manage a team of Platform engineers, supervising day-to-day technical tasks, as well as mentoring/growing skills within your team.
  • Collaborating with the department head to plan OKRs and ensure the successful execution and delivery of the planned outcomes.
  • Oversee the migration from on-premise infrastructure to AWS cloud, ensuring best practices, security, and scalability throughout the process.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in cloud-related projects, addressing challenges, and ensuring optimal cloud performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal Engineer and Product Manager, acting as a sparring partner to align on technical and product strategies.
  • Ensure a high-performance culture within the team, driving productivity, innovation, and team well-being.

Your profile

  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, with a proven track record of managing DevOps/ SRE/Cloud teams.
  • Extensive experience with AWS and strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, services, and migration challenges.
  • Strong people management skills, with experience conducting 1:1s, fostering team satisfaction, and mentoring engineers.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technical and business goals among engineering and product leadership.
  • Experience supporting large-scale cloud migration projects, particularly from on-premise environments.
